Mishustin called energy the main direction of cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan
Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin spoke at the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum and named energy as a key area of ​​cooperation between countries.
Speaking at the plenary session of the forum, Mishustin emphasized that the two countries still have great potential for expanding their partnership.
“There are many areas for expanding cooperation. And coordinated work on each can bring maximum benefit to national economies and tangible benefits to the citizens of Russia and Uzbekistan. This is primarily energy,” said the head of the Russian government.
According to him, Russia is already supplying energy resources to Uzbekistan, developing a network of gas stations, participating in the development of new hydrocarbon deposits and modernizing the Central Asia - Center gas pipeline. Mishustin also recalled the start of construction of the first power unit of an integrated nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan according to the Russian project.
Separately, Mikhail Mishustin focused on the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan and said that the proposal to create a creative tourism corridor "Samarkand - St. Petersburg" will be discussed at an international conference on the development of creative and creative industries in Russia.
Previouslyreportedthat Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the creation of an international financial center and commercial court at the Tashkent International Investment Forum. These initiatives should become part of a new system for attracting investment and protecting the rights of entrepreneurs.
