This year, 11 solar and 3 wind power plants will be launched in nine regions

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz In the next three years, 28 large solar and wind power plants will be launched in Uzbekistan, 14 of them will come into operation this year. Pilot projects on agrovoltaics are being launched in six districts. An appropriate energy system will also be created for the expanding capacities, the correspondent reports Podrobno.uz .

At today's meeting on issues related to the use of renewable energy sources, the President noted that in 2024 it is expected that the share of "green" energy in electricity production will reach 15%. The President noted that starting this year, a three-year program for the construction of large facilities will be implemented.

Based on the demand of the population and sectors of the economy, 28 large solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 8 gigawatts will be launched in the next three years, 944 kilometers of high-voltage power transmission lines and 6 large substations will be built, as well as 18 storage capacities of 2.2 gigawatts.

The Ministry of Energy has been instructed to accelerate the construction of 14 stations. They are planned to be put into operation this year. These are 11 solar power plants with a capacity of 2 gigawatts each in Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Namangan, Samarkand, Tashkent and Ferghana regions. Also, three 600-megawatt wind farms are to be launched in the Bukhara and Navoi regions.

As part of the construction of these stations, 500 kilometers of high-voltage power lines will also be built. The capacities of five substations will also be expanded to connect new facilities to the network.

The Head of State instructed to allocate additional resources in the amount of $ 50 million, negotiate with foreign investors and attract another $ 100 million to further expand the installation of solar panels on the ground, support the desire of residents to use "green" energy.

It was noted that it is necessary to accelerate work on increasing the share of "green" energy in agriculture and water management. According to experts, our country has 10 gigawatts of agro-voltaic potential. Officials have been instructed to launch pilot projects on agrovoltaics on agricultural land in six districts this year.

A separate program with the involvement of international experts will be developed for the development of renewable energy sources in areas with high energy consumption.

Recall that plans for the introduction of agrovoltaics in the country were announced in early January.
