Iran has expressed interest in exchanging electricity with Uzbekistan

Iranian Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrobian said that the necessary framework has been prepared for the exchange of electricity with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Mehrobian said at a meeting with Uzbek Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov in Tehran on March 4 that Iran is now exchanging electricity with many of its neighbors. He paid special attention to the development of cooperation in the field of energy exchange between Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

He noted that Iranian companies are ready to cooperate with Uzbekistan in the implementation of electrical engineering projects, the export of electrical parts and equipment, the production of power equipment and electrical equipment.

According to him, after the talks between the presidents of the two countries, the parties agreed to develop economic, political, cultural and historical ties.

Noting that the two countries have great potential to expand relations in all spheres, Iran and Uzbekistan can cooperate in the construction of thermal and hydroelectric power plants, the export of technical services, etc.

The Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, in turn, noted that Iran is among the top 5 leading countries in the construction of power plants in the region and attaches great importance to strengthening ties with Iran in all spheres.
